The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess ~ Love of Light and Shadow - Chapter 7

Chapter 7
The Forest's Shadow:
Cleansing the Forest Temple

Lhikan and Midna slept the rest of the day away. The moon had already risen by the time Lhikan had awoken. Midna was still asleep in his arms, a dreamy smile, and a rosy blush on her face. Lhikan smiled, lucky and thankful to be her husband. Taking care not to disturb his wife's slumber, he eased himself to a standing position, having regained his strength thanks to his nap. He carried Midna to the river, wanting to at least attempt to clean her up. He stepped into the river, looking at the moonlight reflecting off of the surface of the water. Lhikan smiled, admiring the beauty of the world of light.
It's a pity that when this is all over, we may never return to this place again, he thought, setting Midna down by a large rock by the river's edge. He sat beside her, draping his arm around her shoulder, choosing to wait for her to wake up before bathing with her. He sat with Midna for a few minutes, and then she let out a soft noise, slowly waking up. She reached up to her face, and rubbed her eyes, trying to wake up faster. Lhikan looked down at her and smiled.
"Good evening, Midna," he said softly. Midna looked up at him, her face still coated with cum, and smiled.
"Good evening," she giggled. She looked down at her body, as well as her reflection in the water. "Geez. You came so much. But, considering you were backed up for three months, that's not surprising. I'm all sticky though," she said with a grin. Lhikan laughed, kissing Midna's lips, ignoring the semen on her face. Midna didn't hesitate in meeting her husband's lips. They kissed passionately for several minutes, wanting to spend every spare moment they had together before venturing to the Forest Temple to retrieve the second Fused Shadow.
When they broke their kiss, they washed the dried fluids off their bodies, and returned to where their equipment lay beneath the large tree. Lhikan donned his robes once again, putting his shield and sword on his back. Midna picked up the Fused Shadow she had taken from their realm, and put it back on her head, one of her eyes being concealed by the eye of the Shadow. Lhikan pulled his straps tight so they wouldn't slip off his arms, but left himself some breathing room. I can probably find a way to use these in combat, he thought before turning to his wife.
"Ready to go, Midna?" he asked. Midna nodded, and floated onto his shoulders.
"Ready when you are, Lhikan," she answered. With their heads held high, and their minds focused on their ultimate goal, the King and his Princess left their love nest, and began their trek to the Temple of the Forest.
Because it was the middle of the night, Lhikan kept his shield and sword at the ready, knowing that the bokoblins roamed in greater numbers after nightfall. He kept his eyes and ears open to his surroundings, with Midna assisting as a lookout from atop his shoulders. As they crossed the same part of the woods they had hunted shadow insects not twenty-four hours earlier, Midna noted that the area was still mostly blanketed by a noxious, purple miasma.
"The poisonous fog hasn't dissipated yet, Lhikan. I wonder why," she pondered. Lhikan looked over at the fog that blanketed the area.
"I have a couple ideas. Maybe the awakening of the Fused Shadow in the temple caused it. Or maybe some monster within the temple is responsible for creating the miasma," he suggested. Midna nodded, figuring that both explanations were very plausible.
"Guess we'll find out soon enough, won't we, dear?" she asked, adjusting herself on Lhikan's shoulders.
"Yeah. Once we clear the temple of monsters, and get the Shadow, the forest should be back to normal. Faron's burden will have been taken off his shoulders, and we'll be a step closer to putting an end to Zant's supposed reign," he said, anger present in his tone as he mentioned the Usurper King. He had not yet recovered any memories of Zant, but the fact that he would betray his own people and turn them into mindless beasts to be used as soldiers disgusted him.
"We'll stop him. As long as we're together, Zant will fail," Midna said, trying to reassure her husband. His hatred for Zant is understandable. Seeing his wife in such a state would drive any man to want vengeance, she thought. They kept walking, and soon the large tree that was carved out to make the Forest Temple entered their sight. Midna gasped as she gazed at it.
"I had the same reaction the first time I saw it, too. The Forest Temple extends well beyond this single tree, most of the deeper woods consisting of its 'interior'. I've only been inside a couple times, before the monster numbers increased. Ever since, the Temple's been declared off limits until the monsters could be cleared out," Lhikan explained.
"You've been inside? Do you remember the layout?" Midna asked, hoping that Lhikan's brief time in the world of light had provided him with enough knowledge to make their quest easier. Lhikan nodded.
"Yes. But even so, there's no way to tell the kind of resistance we'll run into in there," he said, walking up the path leading to the temple. He found the lack of bokoblins outside unnerving. It's too quiet... I figured that with all the dark energy Zant's been pouring into the world of light, the bokoblins would be out in droves, he thought, keeping his grip tight on his sword and shield. As they reached the entrance to the temple, Lhikan opened the door, and walked inside.
It was very dark within the temple, but Lhikan's Twili eyes easily began to adjust. He and Midna stepped into a chamber near the entrance, and found it filled with large diababa plants. Lhikan quickly began to destroy the plants, as well as the bokoblins near the far end of the chamber. He found that they had been guarding a cage, and inside was a monkey. After breaking open the cage, the monkey began pointing at the door nearby.
"I think she's trying to tell you something, dear," Midna suggested. Lhikan opened the door, and the monkey ran ahead of him
"Whatever she's trying to tell, it seems like she's trying to guide me somewhere, too. What's stranger is I recognize this particular monkey," he murmured. Midna tilted her head in confusion.
"How can you know a monkey?" she asked, genuinely curious. Lhikan chuckled, remembering the incident with Talo the other day.
"It's a long story. For the past few days, monkeys had been causing mischief in Ordona. And about two days ago, Talo, a child from the village, decided to do something about it. He made a play sword out of a stick, and chased after a monkey that had come to the village. But, he didn't anticipate to run into the bokoblins in Faron Woods. He and the monkey were both captured, and were held right outside this very temple. It was this same monkey, too. I recognize her by the flower by her ear," he explained, following the monkey across the next chamber.
He opened the door the monkey was pointing to, and he and Midna found themselves outside again, much deeper into Faron Woods. The monkey began to run across a nearby bridge when a large white monkey appeared on the other side. It raised its arm, holding something in its hand. It was boomerang, and it soon glowed a very dark purple. The monkey threw it, and it severed the ropes holding up the bridge. Luckily, the smaller monkey managed to keep her grip on the planks, and climbed back up to Lhikan.
"Well, that complicates matters..." Lhikan muttered.
"What was a monkey doing with a boomerang anyway?" Midna asked. "And why was it glowing?" she added, remembering the dark glow around the boomerang. Lhikan turned around, following the monkey back the way they had come.
"I'm not sure, but I heard that the Forest Temple was the home of a treasure said to house the power of the Fairy of Winds. That boomerang might've been the treasure, but why it had such a dark aura is a mystery to me as well," he answered. The monkey led them to the west.  After entering another chamber, they found another monkey in a cage atop a pole.
"I think she wants us to rescue her friends, Lhikan," Midna suggested. Lhikan nodded, and rammed the pole with his shoulder. The cage fell off, and broke apart, freeing the monkey that had been trapped within. Lhikan and Midna continued to follow the monkeys around the temple, freeing their friends, and killing every monster they encountered. Eventually, they had freed enough monkeys for them to form a chain and help Lhikan cross the bridge the large white monkey had cut down. The monkeys swung him across the high branches, bringing him to where the larger monkey had run off to.
"Midna..." Lhikan said softly.
"What is it, Lhikan?" Midna replied. Lhikan took a deep breath, and worked out the crick in his neck.
"I want you to stay close to me. Stay in my shadow until the fight is over. No matter what, don't come out, ok?" he asked, his tone serious and firm. Midna understood why he was asking this of her. He was always protective of her. Even when we were young, he always put my safety first, she thought. She got off Lhikan's shoulders, and looked at him. She could see the worry in her husband's eyes.
"If it's what you think is best, I'll stay in your shadow until the coast is clear," she said softly. Lhikan put his hand on Midna's cheek, and kissed her softly. Midna blushed as she retreated into the safety of Lhikan's shadow. Lhikan took a deep breath as he approached the door before him. I will not let harm come to my wife. Zant's done enough to her as it is, he thought. He pushed the door open, and walked inside. No sooner had he entered than thick wooden bars closed over the doorway, sealing him inside.
"Well, shit. This is gonna be tougher than I thought..." he muttered. He suddenly heard the screech of a monkey. He looked towards the center of the chamber, and saw the large white monkey on top of a pole. The creature screeched, and smacked its bright red ass, as if taunting the Twili. Lhikan just blinked in confusion, and then charged the pole, ramming it with his shoulder. The monkey lost its footing, and fell off. Lhikan noticed a large insect attached to the monkey's head. He took it off the monkey, and then stabbed his sword through it.
"Disgusting vermin..." he muttered. The monkey got to its feet, and looked at Lhikan. It screeched, then left the chamber through a hole in the wall. "You're welcome... I guess," Lhikan said, sheathing his sword. He sat down on the ground, leaning against the pole. "Coast is clear, Midna. It's safe for you to come out now," he said, closing his eyes. Midna rose from Lhikan's shadow, and sat in his lap.
"Are you alright, dear?" she asked, putting her hand on his cheek. Lhikan held her hand, and looked into his wife's eyes. As he met her amber eyes with his own, he began to remember more of their past together. He saw them as children, Midna still so beautiful despite being so young. The memory was replaced by one of them as teenagers, simply watching the black clouds of the Twilight Realm. The final memory was of their coronation as the Twilight Realm's new leaders. The memories then faded back into Lhikan's subconscious, but he smiled as they returned to the deeper reaches of his mind.
"Everything's fine, my love. I just wanted to take a rest before we pressed onward," he answered, pulling Midna into a tender hug. Midna gasped softly at the sudden action, but quickly snuggled against Lhikan's chest. His memories are returning. That's impossible to deny. He's beginning to remember more about us, she thought, feeling Lhikan's arms around her. She then looked over at the boomerang, which the monkey had dropped. The dark aura surrounding it had disappeared, and a small whirlwind began to form under it.
"Lhikan, look," Midna said, pointing at the boomerang. Lhikan looked over as the boomerang rose into the air.
"I am the Fairy of Winds, whose power resides in this boomerang. You have freed me from a dark influence, and I shall reward you by lending my power to you. Use it well, and with my blessing," came a voice from the boomerang. It then flew around the room, bring a miniature tornado with it. It then flew into Lhikan's hand. Lhikan examined the boomerang, getting a feel for the power it contained.
"So that's the treasure of the Fairy of Winds?" Midna asked. Lhikan nodded, and tossed the boomerang. It flew around the chamber, bringing its whirlwind with it. Within moments, it returned to Lhikan's hand.
"This could come in handy, Midna," he said, getting to his feet. "But now we need to figure a way out of this chamber. I can't break those bars blocking the door, and with the door itself in the way, I don't think we can just pass through the bars," he said. Midna nodded in agreement, and began looking around at the chamber. She noticed a windmill-like device over the door.
"Lhikan, look up there," she said, pointing at the device. Lhikan followed her gesture, and saw the windmill.
"Maybe the boomerang's whirlwind can move it. It might be connected to the bars in some way," he said, readying the boomerang in his hand. As he focused on the device, wind began to swirl around the boomerang as it drew on the Fairy of Winds' power. "Here goes nothing..." he said, giving the boomerang a good throw. It circled the windmill, its wind spinning the device. The bars in front of the door trembled, and then rose, unblocking the door. The mystic boomerang then returned to Lhikan's hand, and the cyclone disappeared. Midna hopped onto Lhikan's shoulders, and giggled.
"Seems like we got a really useful gift from the Fairy of Winds, dear," she said with a smile. Lhikan smiled, and turned the boomerang into twilight particles, storing it in an unseen inventory. They approached the door, and Lhikan pushed it aside, stepping through. After checking the map they had acquired, Lhikan and Midna went east, freeing another monkey in the process. They continued through the temple, freeing the rest of the monkeys from the bokoblins that had taken over the temple.
"That's the last one, Midna. We should be able to make it to the shrine now," Lhikan said, checking the map. They were pretty close to the final chamber, so they went directly there. Upon reaching the door, they noticed it was much larger than any of the others.
"Looks heavy," Midna said. Lhikan didn't answer right away, deep in thought. I can sense strong dark energy beyond this door... The Fused Shadow is definitely inside the shrine. But there's something I don't like about the feeling I'm getting from it, he thought. He could feel the ancient shadow magic of his people, but accompanying that aura was a much darker feeling.
"Midna..." Lhikan said, finally breaking his silence. Midna looked at him.
"Yes, dear?" she asked.
"Get in my shadow..." Lhikan said softly. Midna floated in front of him.
"W-Why? I might be able to help you, Lhikan," she said. Lhikan raised his head to look his wife in the eye. He placed his hand softly upon her cheek, and looked deep into her eyes.
"Don't argue with me, Midna. There is incredible dark power in the shrine. Power well beyond your own in the state you're in. If you got hurt, I would never be able to forgive myself. I'll be fine on my own. Your safety is more important than anything. So please... Please stay inside my shadow until the coast is clear," he said softly, caressing his wife's cheek. Midna looked at her husband, surprised by his attitude. He's so worried about losing me... More worried than I've ever seen him before, she thought. She then held Lhikan's hand, and looked into his crimson eyes.
"Alright. If it'll put your mind at ease, I'll stay in the safety of your shadow until you deal with whatever's in there," she said softly. Lhikan gave her a soft smile, and kissed her softly on the lips. Midna returned her husband's affection. They kissed for maybe a minute before Midna broke the kiss, and retreated into the safety of Lhikan's shadow. Lhikan readied his shield, and drew his sword.
Whatever seems to be guarding the Fused Shadow isn't there by Faron's design. I can sense Zant's hand in this, he thought angrily. He tightened his grip on his sword. Well, whatever it is, I'll show it the power of the true King of Twilight, he thought. With a mighty push, he opened the massive door, and entered the shrine chamber.
Immediately, the familiar stench of the miasma blanketing Faron Woods assailed his nostrils. Whatever the source of the miasma was, it was in the shrine. As Lhikan looked around, he could feel dark energy all around him. The normally crystal clear water of the shrine was a murky purple, and gave off a foul smell. He could sense the power of the Fused Shadow beneath the surface. As he stepped closer to the shrine pool, the water began to bubble and churn. As Lhikan steeled himself for the imminent battle, he felt the Fused Shadow's power approach him. As the surface of the water broke, a massive diababa rose from pool. Its mouth opened, revealing a single giant eye. It let out a deafening roar, shaking the shrine chamber.
"So... you've absorbed the power of the Fused Shadow..." Lhikan murmured, shaking the bangs of his hair out of his face. A fierce gleam appeared in his crimson eyes as he stared down the massive beast. "No matter... I'll cut you down like the overgrown weed you are," he said with a glare. The massive diababa roared as two more giant mouths rose from the water on either side. The other mouths licked their lips, and lunged for Lhikan. Without hesitation or fear, Lhikan swung his blade, severing the massive heads from their stems with two convicted strikes. He then faced the main diababa plant, and glared straight into its single eye.
"That the best you got? I've gotten more of a challenge from Ordonian goats!" he shouted. The diababa roared and began spewing a liquid poison, which Lhikan blocked with his shield. As the liquid was deflected to the ground, it began to eat through the floor. Lhikan waited for an opening in the diababa's defense, and when he saw it, he speared his sword through the monster's single eye. After Lhikan removed his blade, the diababa shrieked and convulsed. Its body then began to harden as the power of the Fused Shadow began to reject it. With a final shriek of agony, the diababa exploded into twilight particles. The particles then drew together, forming the second Fused Shadow. The stone relic slowly floated down to Lhikan. He reached up, and took hold of the artifact, examining it. As his hands made contact, Midna rose from his shadow, sensing the coast to be clear.
"You did it!" she said happily. Lhikan smiled, and held the Fused Shadow between them.
"So this is what we're looking for, huh?" he asked. Midna nodded, her hair turning into a large orange hand. With it, she reached to take the Shadow and store it, but something happened. There was sudden surge of power, and a blinding flash of light that enveloped Lhikan. But the light began to recede, drawing into the body of the King. As its glare began to fade, Midna could see her husband's body begin to stand out from the light. And to her astonishment, he had changed.
His hair, once orange as a raging fire, had turned auburn red, and had even grown longer. New tattoos had appeared on his face, and the pattern of his skin had shifted. And as he opened his eyes, even they had changed. Anyone else would not have been able to tell the difference, but the Princess could. His eyes, normally burning like a crimson sun, now shone with a gentler light, adding regality to his warrior's gaze.
What's happened to him? Did he somehow absorb the power of the Fused Shadow into his own body? Yes, that must be it... Even now, I can feel that his magic has grown stronger, Midna thought as she looked at Lhikan. And as she gazed upon her beloved's new form, a blush crossed her face. This must be my darling's true power... And yet, I don't think it's the limit of what he's capable of. All these years we've been together, and he still finds ways to surprise me, she thought with a smile. As the light from the Fused Shadow fully receded into Lhikan's body, he looked at Midna, and smiled.
"Heh. Seems I haven't forgotten everything, doesn't it? The ability to absorb the power of the Fused Shadows into my own body, and transfer them to new vessels if I choose to..." he said softly as a smirk formed on his lips. "Now I understand why Zant wants us so badly. He wants the powers we share together as the rulers of our realm. Isn't that right, Midna?" he asked. Midna nodded, figuring that it was a very plausible theory.
"It must at least be part of what he's after... After all, he cursed me to diminish my powers considerably. And when you crossed the barrier the first time, he only captured you, rather than killing you outright..." the Princess mused. She then reached up to feel the Shadow that sat on her head. "As much as I would like to have the power of this Shadow within my own body, we'll need the relics themselves before the end," she said as she took hold of the one her husband now held, and stored it in their ethereal inventory. As the Twili looked around, they noticed that the shrine had begun to regain its light, and the water began to turn back to normal.
"Looks like the awakening of the Fused Shadow is what caused that diababa to mutate into such a beast, as well as the increase in numbers to the monsters in this region," Lhikan noted.
"So it seems. And now that the Shadow is in our possession, its power is no longer affecting the temple," Midna replied. Lhikan looked into his wife's eyes, taking a moment to lose himself in their amber beauty.
"Well, since the temple's been cleared, and the natural balance of power restored, shall we leave?" he asked. Midna nodded, and pointed at the ground, opening a portal. She then got on Lhikan's shoulders as he stepped onto the portal, and they were whisked back to Faron's spring.

Chapter 6
Fun in the Forest

Sensing the coast to be clear, Midna rose from Lhikan's shadow, her body being sustained by being in close proximity to his immense magical power.
"A dark power, huh... Midna, you said the Fused Shadow you possess is a relic of our people," Lhikan asked her. Midna nodded.
"Yes. There are four Fused Shadows in total. The one I managed to escape our realm with is the only one that our tribe still possessed. I don't know what happened to the other three," she answered. Lhikan thought about what Faron had said about being a guardian of the dark power residing in the forest's temple.
"It's possible that the other three were taken from our ancestor's by the goddesses, and were left with the light spirits to watch over them. If such is the case, if we help the other spirits, we can get our hands on the last three Fused Shadows," he suggested. Midna nodded.
"And if we get all four, we may just be able to put an end to Zant," she said, a smiling forming on her face. "I always said you were brilliant, dear," she said softly, caressing Lhikan's cheek with her small hand. Lhikan smiled, and put his hand on his wife's.
"Behind every great man is an even better woman, my darling wife," he said, pressing his lips against Midna's, luring the happy imp into a kiss. Midna slipped her tongue past her lips, pushing at her husband's. Lhikan's lips parted, welcoming his wife's tongue with his own. They kissed passionately for several minutes, reveling in the first moment of peace they've had in three months. As their tongues played with one another, Midna pressed herself against Lhikan, her modest breasts being squished against his chest.
Midna blushed a rosy red as she felt her husband caress her back, his hand slowly making its way to her shapely butt. She moaned in her throat as she felt his hand cup one of her ample cheeks, and pushed herself harder against him. She pulled back, reluctantly breaking their kiss; a strand of saliva still connecting them for a few moments.
"My love... We shouldn't do this here... If you would touch me like this, take me somewhere special. A place we will be free to do as we wish. A places that will remain special for us long after this ordeal is behind us," she said heatedly, breathing heavily. Lhikan caressed Midna's cheek, gazing into the eyes of his beloved wife.
"I know of a river nearby. It's calm, peaceful, and isolated. We'll rest there for a day, and then we'll make our way to the temple of the forest after we've regained our strength and taken supplies," he said softly. Midna looked deep into Lhikan's crimson eyes, trying to see into her husband's heart.
"Take me there, my darling... And when we get there... Show me how much you love me," she murmured. Lhikan nodded, and cradled Midna in his arms, carrying her through the woods to a river to the northwest of the path to the forest temple. There, hidden behind some tall grass, was a small clearing by a calm river. There was a large tree that cast a pleasant shade over most of the clearing.
"I found this spot shortly after arriving in Ordona Village. I've never told anyone how to find it. I wanted to bring Ilia here," Lhikan said, his mind drifting to the last time he had seen Ilia; a bulbin's arrow sticking out of her back. Midna looked at him, a mischievous grin on her face.
"Well, you may get a chance. But..." she said, running one of her fingers down her husband's chest. "But if you want to have any hope of sampling your little human friend's body, you have to let me have my way with her, too," she said teasingly. Lhikan blushed, having forgotten how open Midna was with her sexuality. Midna took advantage of Lhikan's distraction, and planted a firm kiss upon her husband's lips. She kissed him lovingly for several moments, taking pleasure in her ability to tease him so easily. After a few minutes, Midna broke the kiss, and looked into Lhikan's eyes.
"Midna, if you're suggesting for even a second that I would be unfaithful to you..." he began, but Midna put a finger to his lips, silencing her husband.
"I would never suggest such a thing. I know that I am an irreplaceable part of your heart and soul, Lhikan," she said as a smile crossed her lips. "But there is no telling when we'd get another chance to... play... with those who dwell in the light. I don't know about you, but I would like to take advantage of some potential extra 'rewards' that this world has to offer," she said softly, pushing herself against Lhikan. Lhikan's blush was replaced with a lustful smile.
"Even in that new body, your mind hasn't changed a bit. You've always been a mischievous girl, my little Midna," he said, kissing his wife's forehead. Midna giggled.
"Well, we've earned some time to rest, so let's use it while we have it, dear," she said, floating down to the grass, and sitting on a large flat rock. Lhikan placed all his equipment under the large tree, then sat next to the rock, now eye-level with Midna. As they exchanged a warm smile, they leaned in closer to one another. Midna closed her eyes as her lips met her husband's, kissing him lovingly. She pushed her tongue past her lips, slipping it in his mouth. They kissed passionately for several minutes, their tongues playing with each other.
To be reunited with my wife after three months of not knowing the truth about what I am... I feel as though I could take on Zant's entire army with the strength her love gives me as my only weapon, Lhikan thought, more memories flashing through his mind. He saw himself and Midna laying in a bed, simply talking. He saw them relaxing in a large bath chamber in what he assumed was the Twilight Palace. While longer than the other memories he had experienced, they were still shorter than he'd have liked, fading back into his subconscious once again.
Reluctantly breaking the kiss, Lhikan caressed his wife's cheek. Midna grinned at her husband, and threw herself at him, pushing him to the ground, and knocking the Fused Shadow off her head in the process. The stone relic rolled to where Lhikan's gear lay beneath the large tree. Midna smiled as she looked down at her husband, some of her bangs getting in her face. Lhikan returned his wife's smile, and gently rubbed her back.
"Midna, I..." he began, but Midna quickly cut him off.
"You don't have to say anything, Lhikan... Let your heart and body do the talking," she cooed softly, her voice honey to Lhikan's ears. She reached up to him and slowly ran her hand down Lhikan's chest, tracing his muscles. No matter what Zant claims himself to be, Lhikan is still my one and only King, she thought happily, her small hand crossing over her husband's abdominal muscles. She giggled, admiring his new physique.
"Something you find funny, dear? Lhikan asked. Midna kissed him softly, and caressed his cheek.
"Nothing at all. Just admiring all the muscle you've built up in three short months. Seems working as a farm hand has done you good," she said with a smile. Lhikan smiled, kissing Midna's lips. After letting her go, he removed his clothing, now sitting naked with his wife in his lap. Midna gave an approving purr as she looked Lhikan over from head to toe. He's even more handsome than I remember, she thought, leaning forward and kissing her husband's chest. She kissed his pectoral muscles several time before slowly making her way down to his abs.
"Mmm..." Lhikan let out a quiet moan as he felt Midna's lips travel across his flesh. The warmth and softness of her lips... She hasn't changed since the last time I was with her like this, he thought, the memory of his last night with Midna flashing through his mind. The memory was brief, likely due to the king being distracted, but he didn't care. This was the first time since everything had begun that he didn't need to rely on his memory. He closed his eyes as Midna continued her downward kisses. She slowed down as her cheek brushed against her husband's cock which had already begun to harden.
"Ooh... It's bigger than I remember," she cooed, gently grasping Lhikan's cock in her small hand. She could feel his warmth as his member pulsed in her hand. She could almost feel his heartbeat through it. She slowly began to stroke Lhikan's cock, coaxing him to full mast. She circled the tip with her thumb, eliciting a soft moan from her husband. She smiled as she began to stroke him faster. As her strokes gained speed, she could feel his cock throb more and more. Midna then leaned in, placing a long soft lick on Lhikan's cock, going from the base of his shaft to the rapidly swelling head.
"Midna... Your tongue feels so good," Lhikan murmured, laying back on the grass. Midna said nothing, but simply smiled, and wrapped her lips around the tip of her husband's pulsing cock. Lhikan moaned again, his mind going blank as Midna began to slowly bob her head up and down along his cock. As she suckled on her beloved's dick, Midna hummed in her throat, sending vibrations through the throbbing organ. Lhikan moaned loudly from the sensation, triggering more memories of Midna doing the exact same things multiple times over the years they had been together.
"Is my darling getting close to his limit?" Midna teased, taking Lhikan's cock out of her mouth, but continuing to stroke it. Lhikan groaned, waves of pleasure surging through his entire body from Midna's teasing.
"Y-Yes, my love..." he managed to say, his mind almost a blank. Midna giggled, and kissed the tip of Lhikan's cock, wrapping her lips around it once more, and lowering her head all the way down, taking the entire length into her mouth. She began to suck on it firmly, but not roughly. Cum for me, my King. Let your Princess taste your love, she thought, feeling the heat build up in her own nether region. As she continued to suckle Lhikan's dick, she moved her free hand to her pussy lips, and began to rub them slowly, her blush turning from a faint pink to a rosy red.
"Midna!" Lhikan cried out, his orgasm hitting him like a charging Ordonian goat. His cock erupted, firing thick ropes of cum into Midna's mouth, and down her throat. Midna gulped it down eagerly, savoring the taste of every drop of her beloved's semen. But before long, the copious amount of cum pouring from Lhikan's cock became too much for her to keep up with and began leaking from her mouth. She gagged, letting him out of her mouth to catch her breath. As she did, more cum splattered across her face and chest, covering much of her upper body in her husband's creamy spunk.
"So... So much cum!" she exclaimed happily, plunging her fingers in and out of her pussy as Lhikan's cum continued to coat her small body from head to toe. As she basked in the bukkake she was receiving from the man she loved, she leaned back a bit, using her other hand to fondle one of her breasts while she fingered herself as fast as she could. She soon reached her limit, crying out in pleasure as her orgasm crashed upon her. Her fluids gushed from her pussy, drenching her thighs and fingers, as well as the grass beneath her. When both their orgasms died down, Lhikan's waist was covered in his own cum, and Midna was completely drenched in her husband's cream.
Midna stumbled forward, then her legs gave out and she fell onto Lhikan's chest, her head resting just below his chin. Lhikan mustered what strength he could to wrap his right arm around Midna in a tender, loving embrace. Midna noticed the gesture, and nuzzled against Lhikan's chest, her eyelids fluttering. She was tired after such an intense experience. It had been a while so she had not been prepared for it, but in no way did she regret it. She smiled as she attempted to snuggle even closer to Lhikan, desperately wanting to be as close to her husband as possible. Lhikan smiled, and lifted his left arm, placing his hand softly upon Midna's shapely butt.
"That was... We've had sex many times before, but I've never had an orgasm that intense," he said softly, closing his eyes. Midna nodded, letting out a quiet yawn.
"It's because we've both gone without since all this began..." she murmured. Lhikan smiled slightly, chuckling softly.
"Well, even Zant's supposed power can't keep us apart. We can at least reclaim some aspects of our former life together while we work to defeat him, and stop his conquest," he said. Midna giggled.
"Oh yes. No more nights alone... And even when I'm in your shadow, I can always be with you. At least until I get my real body back," she replied. They laughed together for a few moments. But they couldn't hold off their exhaustion any longer. So, cuddled together, locked in a passionate embrace, and coated with their combined sexual fluids, they surrendered to slumber, and their dreams, for the first time in three months, became as one...

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess ~ Love of Light and Shadow - Chapter 5

Chapter 5
The Twilight Forest

A portal opened in the sky as Lhikan and Midna descended on Ordona's spring. The sun had set, and to their relief, the twilight veil had not reached the province.
"Good. My theory was right," Lhikan said, looking around. Midna, still sitting stop her husband's shoulders, looked at her hands in confusion.
"Strange... I shouldn't be able to exist in the world of light... Not in this form anyway," she said.
"It may have something to do with the Fused Shadow you're wearing. It might not be able to restore your full power, but it may be making you strong enough to exist in the world of light, even in your current state," Lhikan replied. Midna nodded.
"That's probably it. But at the moment, we need to talk to this Ordona," she said. Lhikan didn't exactly know how to call Ordona, but suddenly he heard a voice.
"Come to my spring..." it said. Lhikan and Midna looked at each other, then approached the spring. The water was cool against Lhikan's skin. As he approached, several large stones surrounded him, a barrier extending between them. "Beware, young ones... A shadow beast approaches..." said the voice. Midna looked up and got Lhikan's attention.
"Above us!" she said. Lhikan looked up at the portal that had formed. A large black creature dropped from it, landing in the spring.
"Zant must know we're here," Lhikan said, readying himself for a fight. The shadow beast lumbered forward. With a roar, it took a swipe at Lhikan with one of it's long arms. Nimbly dodging to the side, Lhikan got behind the creature, and wrapped his arm tightly around its neck. In one harsh motion, Lhikan snapped the shadow beast's neck, killing it instantly. As it fell, it turned to twilight particles and vanished, leaving only the portal from whence it came still floating in the sky.
"I thank you for protecting my spring," said the mysterious voice. A large sphere of light began to rise from the water. Midna quickly hid in Lhikan's shadow. A form began to shape around the sphere, becoming a large Ordonian goat.
"You must be the spirit Ordona," Lhikan said, shielding his eyes.
"I am indeed. Forgive me if my light causes you pain, but I have an important task for you and your companion," said Ordona. Lhikan nodded.
"I think I know what you would ask of me. You want us to help your friends, the other three light spirits. They were targeted by the Dark King because he knew they could impede his conquest of this land," he said. Ordona nodded slowly.
"Yes. While you yourself are a denizen of the realm of shadows, you understand our plight, and the threat this represents to this world of light. You must enter the twilight that is familiar to you, and help my brethren. If you return their light, they will be able to rid their respective territories of the curse placed upon them. Can you do this for us?" Ordona asked.
"I will do what I can. You have my oath," Lhikan replied. With one last nod, Ordona returned to his spring, allowing Midna to come out of hiding.
"So who's the first spirit we need to help, dear?" she asked, floating next to Lhikan. He looked at her, and kissed her cheek.
"The closest is Faron. His spring is in the woods just over the bridge that's nearby. We should go there first, Midna," he answered. Midna nodded, but hesitated to get on Lhikan's shoulders.
"Lhikan..." she said softly. Lhikan looked at his wife, noticing the sad look in her eyes. He gently caressed her cheek.
"Is something wrong, Midna?" he asked, concern in his voice. Midna looked at him, a definite sadness in her gaze.
"I just wish we had more time to enjoy our reunion before going to war with one of our own..." she said softly.
"War? But this isn't..." Lhikan began, but Midna cut him off.
"It's war, dear. Whether or not it will be remembered by history as such is inconsequential. This is a war between us and Zant with the world of light caught in the middle. That shadow beast, as well as the others we will no doubt encounter, are innocent people from both realms who have been stripped of their true identities, and are being forced to fight for Zant," she explained. Lhikan looked at where the shadow beast had fallen before it had disappeared.
"So that creature I killed... It was..." he asked.
"Yes. It was either a citizen of Hyrule, or one of our own people... But there is no cure for the curse placed upon them by Zant. Once they have been turned into one of those monsters... Death is the only way to be released..." Midna answered sadly. Lhikan closed his eyes.
"And Zant's had more than three months to build his forces... There's no telling how many innocent bystanders have been bent to his whim..." he said angrily, clenching his fist. Midna reached up and put her hands on Lhikan's cheeks.
"We must stop him, Lhikan. If he is left alive, the worlds of light and shadow will both fall," she said. Lhikan held Midna's hand in his, and looked deep into her amber eyes.
"We'll put an end to him, Midna. He is a disgrace to our people, and he perverts our magic, using it for conquest. We would be remiss in our duty as the rightful rulers of the Twilight Realm if we let this continue," he said. Midna smiled, taking her place atop her husband's shoulders. They left Ordona's spring behind them, and crossed the large bridge connecting the Ordona and Faron provinces. Within moments, they came across the very spot where Lhikan had been pulled into the barrier.
"This is it, Lhikan. This is the same place where you were first pulled into the twilight," Midna said softly. Lhikan reached with his hand, feeling the barrier pulsate in reaction to his own shadow magic.
"And this time I will be entering willingly. I just wish it was under better circumstances..." he murmured, walking through the barrier. Upon reaching the other side, he felt a familiar sense of home. But those feelings were laced with disgust at knowing the cause of the twilight veil.
"It feels like home..." Midna said sadly. Lhikan kept walking, looking at the woods he had come to know so well; Drowned in the shadow of his true home.
"But it's not home, Midna. Not by a long shot..." he replied. Midna got off Lhikan's shoulders, floating beside him.
"Where's the spring? We need to find it before more shadow beasts track us down," she said, looking at her husband.
"Listen. I can hear Faron's lament. His spring is close by," Lhikan said, listening to the sounds of the woods. He could hear the call of Faron... As well as the sounds of monsters commonly found in Faron Woods that have been twisted by Zant's curse, and were no doubt stronger than ever.
"Lead the way, my husband. I shall follow you no matter where the path ahead leads us," Midna said, holding Lhikan's hand. Lhikan looked into his wife's eyes, feeling an even greater sense of home as he looked into her gentle amber eyes.
"I want you to stay close to me, ok? I don't want to lose you again, my love," he said softly. Midna nodded, and got back on his shoulders as they proceeded deeper into Faron Province. As they entered a small clearing, they were suddenly ringed by the same barrier they encountered at Ordona's spring.
"Damn. They've found us again," Midna cursed as a portal opened in the sky. Three shadow beasts descended upon them, quickly surrounding them. Lhikan avoided their strikes, and tried to put some distance between them in order to come up with a plan of attack. As the beast closest to him reached out to strike him again, Lhikan took hold of its arm, and restrained it while he broke its neck as he had the first beast he encountered. As the second creature reached for him, Lhikan nimbly ducked away, and got behind it, proceeding to deal with it in the same manner. As he turned his eye to the final creature, it let out a deafening shriek. To Lhikan's astonishment, the shriek had restored the life of the fallen beasts.
"Fuck. This isn't getting us anywhere. No matter how many I take down, if one remains alive, it'll revive the others..." Lhikan cursed, retreating to the edge of the barrier. Midna got his attention.
"Darling, if you link your power with mine, I think I can help you kill them in one chained attack," she suggested. Lhikan looked back at her, and nodded.
"Let's give it a try, love. I just wish I had a weapon..." he said, not liking the idea of being unarmed against such monsters. Midna closed her eyes, and suddenly a shield and sword appeared in Lhikan's hands; Both were black and adorned with turquoise Twili markings that glowed with their own power.
"Will these do, my love?" Midna asked her husband. A smile spread across Lhikan's lips, as he got a feel for his new equipment.
"They'll do just fine, Midna. Now let's put these poor souls out of their misery," he said, readying his sword. Midna nodded, and held on tighter to Lhikan.
"Just focus on linking your magic with mine. I'll take care of the rest," she said. Lhikan nodded, and began to attempt to link his magic with Midna's, advancing on the trio of shadow beasts. Midna grunted, summoning all the strength she could muster. Her orange hair suddenly became a large hand that began projecting a strange enery field that extended about two meters around her and Lhikan. Lhikan began to get the idea, and maneuvered himself to catch all three of the dark creatures in the field. Once he had, his instincts took over, and he and Midna launched their joint attack. It all happened in an instant.
With Midna's power augmenting his own, Lhikan lunged for the nearest shadow beast, cutting it in half at the waist. He quickly changed his course, slicing through the second beast at the shoulder. Before the third creature could revive its friends, Lhikan plunged his blade through its throat, the shriek quickly turning into a gurgling death rattle. As Lhikan pulled out his sword, the creature fell to the ground. Lhikan flicked his sword, casting the blood from its blade, as the beasts exploded into twilight particles, leaving only their portal behind.
"Well... That was an interesting experience," Lhikan said, putting his sword and shield on his back. Midna was panting heavily, and nearly fell off Lhikan's shoulders. Lhikan stopped, and kneeled down, gently taking his wife off his shoulders, laying her down on the grass. "Are you alright, Midna?" he asked, concern in his voice. She nodded slowly, trying to catch her breath.
"I'll be alright, Lhikan. That just took a lot out of me... More than I had expected," she said with a weak smile. Lhikan smiled, and caressed her cheek.
"You're still as strong-willed as I remember. At least Zant couldn't take that away from you," he said, leaning forward and pressing his lips to hers. Midna let out a soft moan as she welcomed her husband's kiss. While the kiss was very brief, it helped to remind her that no matter what her form, she was still his wife. And that thought alone was enough to give her the strength she needed to continue their quest.
"We should keep going. We can rest after we help Faron," she said, getting to her feet. She was a little wobbly, so Lhikan held her steady.
"You're sure you're alright, love?" he asked. Midna nodded, but she did not let go of Lhikan's arms just yet.
"As long as I'm with you, my beloved husband, I can do anything," she said softly. Lhikan smiled, and lifted her off the ground. Midna smiled sweetly, and floated onto Lhikan's shoulders, resuming her perch. They resumed walking to Faron's spring, and heard his voice as they approached.
"You who dwell in shadow... Who have chosen to defend our world... Come to my spring..." said the voice. Lhikan and Midna stepped into the calm water of the spring, noting that Faron's sphere of light was faded and incomplete. "I know why you have come... But the insects of shadow have stolen my light... If you can retrieve my Tears of Light... I will be able to dispel the dark curse that blankets my woods... " Faron said, obviously in an extremely weakened state.
"We'll help you, Faron. The man who brought this curse upon you is a traitor to our people. We do not condone his actions of conquest against the world of light," Midna said from atop her perch on her husband's shoulders. A strange object with many small orbs rose from the water and drifted towards the two Twili.
"Keep my Tears in this Vessel of Light... When it is full, return it to me, and my power will be restored," Faron said, his voice fading until he fell silent.
"The 'shadow insects' are likely scattered throughout the province. It looks like my knowledge of these woods will prove very useful," Lhikan said as Midna turned the Vessel into twilight particles, making it easier to carry.
"By my count, there are sixteen insects we need to find and kill. Luckily, we'll be able to see them," she said. Lhikan looked back at her, confused.
"What do you mean?" he asked.
"Some creatures of the twilight are hidden, even within these barriers. The insects we seek are among these creatures. However, our people are naturally able to see all the creatures of shadow, no matter how well they can hide," Midna answered. Lhikan nodded, beginning to understand.
"Well, let's get started. As much as I'd like to return to our realm, I'd like to say good-bye this twilight as soon as possible," he said with a shudder.
"I agree. This twilight is so very unlike our home... It chokes this land with its darkness," Midna said, disgust in her tone. They went deeper into Faron Woods to begin tracking down the insects. It wasn't hard, considering the bugs were the size of housecats. Within fifteen minutes, they had tracked down all sixteen bugs, returning the Tears to the Vessel Faron had given them.
"And that makes sixteen. Looks like we're all done here, Midna," Lhikan said, checking the Vessel as the last Tear fell into the last empty sphere. Midna smiled, and got off Lhikan's shoulders, floating beside him.
"I wish I could see Faron myself. But exposure to such powerful light in my current state could prove fatal," Midna said. Lhikan held her hand, looking into her eyes. Her eyes... They're as beautiful as I remember, he thought. Midna began to blush a light pink as she met her husband's gaze.
"You'll have your old body back soon, Midna. I swear it," Lhikan said, trying to comfort her. Midna smiled at him.  He cares so much for me... Even in this form, he loves me... I am truly lucky to be his wife, she thought happily. Turning the Vessel into twilight particles once again, Lhikan freed his hands so he could embrace his wife. He took Midna's hand, and pulled her in close. She let out a soft gasp, the sudden action taking her by surprise. But, she welcomed it, and nuzzled against Lhikan's chest. Lhikan walked back to Faron's spring, holding Midna in his arms.
As they approached, the Vessel was drawn from their possession, and returned to the water. As they watched, the veil of twilight began to vanish, being replaced by the morning's warm light. To Lhikan's astonishment, as the light returned, he found himself donned in voluminous black robes adorned with turquoise Twili patterns. The robes were open to expose the form-fitting black bodysuit beneath, and billowed around him in the breeze. He was also wearing pants of black silk, and his arms had several leather straps wrapped around them, each with metal studs. This must've been what I wore before I came here, he thought. He also noted how sharp the studs were, figuring he must've used them as a weapon at one point. Midna noticed the return of her husband's robes, a smile appearing on her face.
"We did it, my love. We've broken Zant's curse over this area. And you have reclaimed your former attire, as well," she said. Lhikan smiled.
"Well, at least it looks good on me," he said. Midna giggled, and dove into her husband's shadow. No sooner had she done this than Faron's sphere rose from the spring, a large monkey forming around it.
"O brave warrior of shadow... You have returned my light, and banished the curse placed upon my land. You have my eternal thanks. But, there is one more thing I must ask of you," said Faron.
"What is it you would ask of me, Faron?" Lhikan asked. Faron looked at the former king, as if trying to peer into his soul.
"Your presence in this world at this time is no coincidence, young king. The one who has usurped your power has caused a dark power hidden deep within my forest's temple to awaken. I have long been the guardian of this power, entrusted by the goddesses of Hyrule to protect it until such a time as it would be needed. Now is that time. If you wish to defeat the Usurper King, you must acquire this power. Only with it can you overcome his power..." Faron's voice faded on the wind as he returned to the waters of his spring.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess ~ Love of Light and Shadow - Chapter 4

Chapter 4
The Twilight Princess

Lhikan awoke to find himself in a cell, and with one monstrous headache. Ugh, my head hurts like hell... Where am I, now? He looked around, taking in his surroundings. He was shackled to the floor of a stone cell, iron bars sealing him inside.
"Well, fuck. Guess I can't just stroll out the door..." he grumbled, leaning back against the wall. he let out a heavy sigh, and picked up a nearby stone, throwing it at the cell door as hard as he could. "Trapped like a rat, and with a body I'm totally unfamiliar with... Fine day this has turned out to be," he muttered.
"There you are!" said a female voice. Lhikan quickly looked around, trying to see who spoke to him.
"Who's there? Show yourself!" he said loudly.
"Eee hee hee! Aww, I'm hurt. But, it's no surprise you don't recognize my voice. You will remember me in time," replied the voice. As Lhikan watched, strange black and green particles began forming in the cell. The strange particles took the shape of a short humanoid creature with the same two-toned skin as Lhikan's, and similar glowing tattoos. As the body became more defined, Lhikan could see that it was indeed a female being, wearing a strange stone helmet. She was about 4 feet tall, with long orange hair held in a ponytail by some kind of stone ornament. Her body was strangely disproportionate in spite of her size. Her hips were somewhat wide, and her thighs were a little thick, complimenting her curvy hips and healthy waist. And her chest was surprisingly well developed for a girl her size.
"Who are you? What am I doing here?" Lhikan asked, calming himself down. The imp-like girl approached him, a smile on her face.
"It's a long story that I can't explain at the moment. But I am certain you've figured out that there's far more to your life than you can recall," she said. She looked into Lhikan's eyes, and he thought he saw a hint of longing in her gaze. At the same time, he was reminded of the maiden in his recurring dream.
She bares a resemblance to the woman from my dreams. Could she be that woman? Lhikan shrugged it off, deciding it was better to focus on his escape for the moment.
"You can tell me where I am. I deserve that much at least," he said, resting his arms on his knees. The girl nodded, and held her small arms in front of her chest, a ball of black and orange energy forming between her hands.
"Of course you do, but I have to get you out of this cell, first. I'll explain things as we go," she said. Lhikan nodded, and sat back. The imp girl cast out her arms, and the ball of energy shot away from her, striking the shackle around Lhikan's ankle, causing it to shatter. He rose to his feet, brushing the dust off his legs.
"Thank you. Now then... care to tell me who you are?" he asked the girl. The imp floated until she was eye-level with Lhikan.
"My name is Midna," she said. The name triggered something in Lhikan, and several memories flashed through his mind. Memories of a woman in a dark, hooded robe adorned with intricate green patterns. Her eyes were gentle, and had a slightly mischievous twinkle. As the memories began to fade, he heard her speak his name, her voice echoing softly in his ears.
"Midna... That name is... Familiar..." he murmured. Midna looked deeply into Lhikan's eyes, almost as if she were trying to tell him something with her gaze. I wish I could tell you everything here and now, Lhikan... But I'm afraid that it'll have to wait, she thought sadly. Knowing that helping Lhikan escape was more important, she composed her thoughts, promising to explain things to him when the time was right.
"I'll guide you out of here. There's someone you must meet," she said, sitting atop his shoulders. Lhikan looked over his shoulder to try and look the girl in the eye, but he was only met with her supple thigh. Her scent... It's very familiar... Like a distant memory that I can't quite place, he thought. He approached the cell door, and examined it.
"The hinges are rusty. I might be able to break it. In which case, you'll want to hang on back there," he said, taking a couple steps back. Midna nodded, and held on tight to Lhikan. Readying himself for what he had in mind, Lhikan quickly spun around, and thrust out his leg, planting a solid kick to the cell door, and knocking it against the opposite wall. He calmly walked out, Midna ducking so she wouldn't hit the bars. The strange helmet-like artifact on her head made it somewhat difficult.
"We need to make our way to the waterways. They branch off the dungeons, and will lead us to the roof," she said. Lhikan began making his way through several tunnels.
"And where do we go from there?" he asked, noticing that there were soldiers in the waterways, and found it strange that they weren't reacting at all to his presence. Strange... I don't exactly look human at the moment, yet they act as if I'm not here. And the crest on their armor... I recognize it. It's the crest of the Hyrule Royal Guard. Is it possible that I'm... He stopped walking, and turned his to look at the girl on his shoulders as best he could.
"We're somewhere in Hyrule Castle... Aren't we?" he asked her. Midna giggled and clapped her hands.
"Well deduced, Lhikan. I'm glad to see you're still as smart, if not smarter, than you were 3 months ago," she said with a mischievous smile on her face. Lhikan cocked an eyebrow at what she just said.
"You say that as if we've met before," he said, resuming his walk through the tunnels. As he walked, he noticed strange black creatures crawling around in the tunnels.
"We have met before, Lhikan. At the moment, I know more about you than you do," replied Midna. She's telling the truth, but she seems reluctant to tell me anything more right now, Lhikan thought as he neared a gate blocking his path.
"Well, putting that aside for now, we seem to be stuck," he said, knocking his fist against the iron bars. Midna giggled, and hopped off Lhikan's shoulders, floating beside him.
"Watch, and follow my lead," she said, approaching the bars. As her body made contact, she began to phase through them, her body becoming the same strange particles it had formed from when Lhikan first encountered her in his cell. Lhikan was amazed, but confused as to how he could possibly follow her through a gate of iron bars.
"But... how do I...?" he began to ask. Midna cut him off with a giggle.
"Just walk into the bars, and focus on the thought of passing through. The body you now possess is capable of passing through obstacles that aren't completely solid, like the bars in front of you," she explained. Lhikan nodded, unsure that he had such power, but Midna had so far given him no reason to doubt her. Closing his eyes, he focused on his desire to pass through the bars, and slowly approached the gate. He felt a strange sensation of disembodiment as his body became those same black and green particles, and he began to pass through the iron bars. Upon reaching the other side, he opened his eyes, and looked down at his hands. He was back in one piece once again.
"Incredible..." he murmured in amazement. Midna giggled, and floated back above his shoulders, resuming her perch behind his head.
"Told you that you could do it. And now that we're out of the waterways, we just need to head up this spiral staircase, and get to the roof," she said. Lhikan looked up, trying to see how far the staircase went.
"Quite a climb. I almost wish I could float like you, Midna," he said with a soft grin. Midna giggled and shook her head.
"Trust me, it's harder than it looks. It took me a while to really get used to it, and honestly, I miss being able to just walk everywhere," she said. Lhikan started walking up the long staircase, jumping over missing sections every so often. He found that his physical strength had increased quite a bit, allowing him to jump farther, and with much less effort than it normally took him. But all the same, his new body felt more and more familiar with each passing minute.
"Tell me something, Midna," he said, carefully walking across a long rope. His balance and dexterity were much better than they used to be. This body's full of surprises, he thought. Midna stopped humming to answer Lhikan's question.
"I'll answer as best I can, Lhikan," she said. She had the feeling she knew what he was about to ask.
"What... What am I? This body is unlike anything I can remember, and yet it feels like I've had it forever," he said. Midna waited until they reached the top of the staircase to answer.
"What you have become is what you have always been, Lhikan. It is your true body. Your true self," she said. Lhikan stopped dead in his tracks.
"What do you mean, my 'true body'?" he asked. Midna thought carefully, trying to word her response properly.
"I can't tell you everything yet, but what I can tell you is you are not, and never were human. What you are, and what you have always been... Is a being called a Twili," she answered. The word triggered another memory flash for Lhikan. This time, he saw a world bathed in perpetual twilight, inhabited by beings much like him. He saw a large palatial building, and two figures on a balcony; one male, and one female. As the memory began to fade, he saw them lean in together for a kiss. And as suddenly as the memory had come, it vanished again, returning to his subconscious.
She was there again... The woman from my dreams has been in these memories as well... Everything seems linked to this Midna girl, he thought to himself. Shaking his head, Lhikan returned his focus to the task at hand, and began to scale the stone wall, climbing up to an opening that he figured would lead right to the roof. He hoisted himself up to the opening, and took a look outside.
The area surrounding the castle was bathed in twilight, despite it still being early afternoon. The clouds had turned black, and there were black particles drifting towards the sky.
"Ah, the black clouds of twilight are quite fetching today," Midna said with a smile. But it was very brief, and quickly fell from her lips. "The only problem is they don't belong in this world..." she said softly. Lhikan turned his head to look at her as best he could.
"There is something familiar about this, Midna. I feel a strange sense of being at home in this veil of twilight... And I feel as though I've just returned home after a long time away," he said to her.
"That is because this twilight isn't natural for this land. It is, I am sad to say, a curse that was brought from our own homeland, Lhikan," Midna replied. Lhikan suddenly felt anger seep into his mind, as if his emotions were reacting to a memory he had yet to uncover.
"I see... Well, let's get a move on and find this person you wanted me to meet. I get the feeling they have important information for me," he said. Midna nodded and pointed to a tower a good distance away from them.
"She is being held in that tower. Be careful though, ok? There are some monstrous birds up here, and it's a long way down," she said. Lhikan nodded, and took off across the roof, dodging the huge black birds as he made his way to the tower Midna indicated. He climbed inside, and dropped down to the stairs. He walked up the spiraling staircase, carefully checking his corners for any potential threats. When he got to the top of the stairs, he was faced with a large set of doors. He noticed one was cracked open slightly.
"Is she in there, Midna?" he asked. Midna nodded.
"Yes. She's actually waiting for you," she answered. Lhikan pushed the door open, and walked inside. He seemed to be in a bedroom, but he couldn't be sure. At the opposite end of the room, he saw a figure standing by the window, hooded and cloaked. She must be the one Midna brought me to meet, he thought. He slowly began to approach her.
"So you've come..." she said. Midna giggled. "Is he the one you were seeking, Midna?" she asked.
"Yes. He is as I expected to find him. Mind you, I don't exactly like that he doesn't remember me," Midna answered, getting off Lhikan's shoulders. She floated next to him, and turned to look at his face. But I know he will remember me in time. We have too much history between us to just let it all be forgotten, she thought. The cloaked woman looked at Lhikan, examining his face.
"Midna speaks highly of you. And from what she has told me, the two of you are the last hope for us all," she said. Lhikan tilted his head.
"Meaning what, exactly?" he asked. The woman looked around, carefully listening for anyone who might be approaching the room.
"Hyrule was once a prosperous land. But now, it is veiled in shadow, and being dominated by the King that dwells in shadow. Some time ago, my castle was ransacked by this dark king, and he gave me a choice. To either fight and condemn my people to death, or surrender and at least let them live under this tyrant. I could not stomach the thought of my people being punished for my own heroics, so I surrendered in order to protect them.  It was the hardest decision I've ever had to make... Ever since, the great land of Hyrule has been gradually plunged into darkness, bit by bit," she explained. Midna floated in front of Lhikan, and looked into his eyes.
"Lhikan, you and I are the only ones capable of saving this land because it is our people's magic that has caused this disaster," she said. Then, she reached out, and put her small hands on his cheeks. "Please... You must help me... for the sake of both worlds," she said, sadness in her eyes. Lhikan reached up, and put his hand over hers. Her touch... It's familiar, and brings warmth to my heart, he thought, looking into Midna's eyes.
"I will do everything in my power to help," he said. "If this world is in peril, as well as my own, I will not stand idly by and let this 'dark king' abuse the magic of my people," he declared, slowly accepting what he really was. He saw Midna smile at him, and he returned the smile that graced her lips.
"Before you go, allow me to introduce myself," said the cloaked woman, lowering her hood. She had long dark blonde hair, and a graceful face. Her eyes were kind, but there was a glimmer of strength in them. "My name is Zelda. I am the princess of Hyrule, and from the bottom of my heart, and on behalf of my kingdom, I thank you for consenting to help us through this difficult time," she said, bowing her head. Lhikan bowed in return, and Midna got back on his shoulders.
"We should get going. We have a lot of work to do, and I don't think we have much time before he notices we've gotten involved. We're the last obstacles standing between him and domination of this world of light," she said to Lhikan.
"You two must hurry. The guard will be here to make his rounds soon, and you mustn't be discovered. If you can make it back outside, you should be able to slip away from the castle unnoticed," Zelda said. Midna nodded.
"Leave this to us... Twilight Princess," Midna said with a grin.
"Midna, this is no time for levity. You should know better than anyone what's at stake here," Zelda replied.
"I'm fully aware of the stakes. But now that I have Lhikan with me, we will succeed. I put my life in his hands," Midna said.
"Very well. May the goddesses bless you on your journey," Zelda said. Lhikan nodded, and walked back to the door. Suddenly, he turned his head to look at Zelda out of the corner of his eye.
"If one of my own people has truly brought this curse upon your land, Zelda... I will make sure he suffers for dragging an entire kingdom of innocents into this," he said, a fierce glint in his amber eyes. Zelda nodded, and Lhikan left, Midna atop his shoulders. He walked down the staircase they had come from, looking for the window by which they had entered the tower. Upon finding it, he leaped up to the opening, and hoisted himself through it. Making their way out to the roof, Lhikan and Midna noticed the monstrous birds had disappeared. Midna then hopped off Lhikan's shoulders, and floated in front of him.
"Well, now you know what's been going on for the past three months, Lhikan," she said to him. Lhikan looked at her.
"Three months? The last three months are all I can remember. Are you telling me that the day I appeared in the village of Ordon was the same day this 'dark king' invaded this land?" he asked, utterly confused. Midna shook her head.
"Not exactly. Lhikan, I wish I could tell you everything right now because there is so much I want to tell you... About yourself, our home, and about us," she said.
"Us? We have a history?" Lhikan asked.
"Yes. A long and involved history. But there is information I can give you to help explain things, and lessen your confusion," Midna answered. She floated closer to Lhikan, looking him in the eye. Lhikan looked into her eyes, and took hold of her hand.
"Tell me what you can, Midna. I need all the information I can get to understand all this," he said softly. Midna nodded, and began to explain.
"Three months ago, the 'dark king', or Zant as he is known to our people, staged a takeover of our own home, the Twilight Realm. While our people did not support him, he has been twisting our people's magic, using it to transform those who would not side with him into mindless shadow beasts. Once he had created enough beasts, he marched on the Twilight Palace to overthrow..." she suddenly stopped, wondering how he would react if he learned the full truth of his identity.
"Overthrow who, Midna? The leaders of our people?" Lhikan asked. Midna nodded, and took a deep breath.
"He was only partially successful. The Twilight Princess and her closest aides managed to get to her husband, the King, before Zant made it too far into the Palace. Together, they transformed him, and blocked the majority of his memories, leaving just enough intact that his subconscious would influence him to be in a position that would lead him back to the twilight. After giving him the appearance of a human, and masking his magic, they sent him to the world of light in order to protect him from Zant," she said, continuing her explanation. Lhikan tilted his head.
"To protect him?" he asked.
"Yes. If Zant could get his hands on the King, there's no telling how much more danger the worlds of light and shadow would be in than they are right now. But while the Princess managed to send her beloved out of harm's way, she was left to face Zant on her own. She eluded him for many weeks, waiting for the right time to try and find her husband again. But Zant still found her. And when he did, instead of turning her into a shadow beast, he cursed her. Zant cursed the Princess into a diminished form, reducing her powers to but a small fragment of what they had been. She took this as a sign that the time had come to return to her husband's side."
"But, before leaving the Twilight Realm, she managed to obtain an ancient relic of our people called a Fused Shadow. The stone relic possessed enough power to use portals again, allowing her to leave. When she had crossed into the world of light, she quickly began searching for her husband. And now..." she trailed off, looking down at the roof. Lhikan held her hand tighter. She looked up at him, and the look in his eyes was all she needed to muster the strength to say what needed to be said. "And now she has found him again," she said softly, reaching up to touch Lhikan's cheek. Lhikan held her hand, closing his eyes.
"It was you... The woman from my dreams, and from the memories I've experienced. Little Midna..." he said softly, a gentle smile spreading across his lips. "My Midna..." he said, leaning forward. Midna blushed, leaning to meet Lhikan's lips with her own. As their lips met, time itself seemed to halt for them alone. What seemed like an eternity passed in that infinitesimal moment of time their lips met. As they kissed, happy to be reunited once again, memories began to flash through Lhikan's mind. Memories of a coronation ceremony, a wedding, and the last kiss they had shared before this all began.
"Lhikan, have you begun to remember?" Midna asked him, reluctantly breaking their tender kiss.
"Bits and pieces. It's a lot to take in all at once, to be honest. But I don't have time to dwell on it. Before I encountered the twilight barrier in Faron Woods, I was chasing after a group of bulbins who had kidnapped some children from the village I was staying in," Lhikan answered, his mind drifting to Ilia and Colin. Midna put her hand to her chin to think over the situation.
"While I was waiting for you to enter that part of the barrier, I saw the bulbins ride north with your friends. But as long as the twilight casts its veil across these lands, we're fighting on Zant's terms. The body he so kindly 'gifted' to me is nowhere near strong enough to even stand against him, let alone have any hope of defeating him. Even with the Fused Shadow I took, my powers are much too weak," she said, pointing to the helmet on her head. Lhikan quickly got the point.
"And with most of my memories blocked, I won't be able to do much good until I can remember how to use my powers to their full extent," he said, trying to figure out how to proceed. He suddenly got an idea. "That's it!" he said. Midna looked at him, curious about what he was thinking.
"What? Did you think of a way we can fight Zant?" she asked. Lhikan shook his head, but the smile never left his face.
"The twilight barrier is our weapon. If it's spread as far as Faron Woods, I think it's safe to assume that the other provinces have fallen to it as well," he replied. Midna tilted her head in confusion.
"I don't quite follow, Lhikan. How can we use the barrier as a weapon against Zant if he's the one controlling it?" she asked. Lhikan just kept smiling.
"There's no strategic value in taking Ordona Province. I'm guessing Zant figured out that's where I was sent to hide, so he launched an attack to get a rise out of me. I don't think he has any actual interest in a small farm village with no real fighting force," he explained. Midna thought about it for a moment, and then she figured out where he was going.
"I see. So it's possible that the village you've spent the last three months in, and the surrounding area isn't under Zant's control. If we can get back to where you first encountered the barrier, we might be able to dispel the barrier region by region, slowing down Zant's conquest considerably," she exclaimed.
"Exactly. Each province possesses a spring dedicated to the four Light Spirits of Hyrule; Ordona, Faron, Eldin, and Lanayru. Zant must've known about these guardians before making his march on Hyrule, and when he took over the castle, his next move had to be going after the Light Spirits. Even with whatever power he now has, he's still one of us. He had to know that unless he could incapacitate the Light Spirits, he wouldn't be able to hold Hyrule for very long," Lhikan said, a plan forming in his mind.
"So what we need to do is to revive the spirits, and their light should be enough to dispel the twilight barrier around their respective provinces. But how do we start?" Midna asked. Lhikan looked towards the south; towards Ordona, and his village.
"If I'm right, Ordona should still be around to help us. He's said to be the oldest of the four spirits, so he must know how to restore the light to the other three," he replied. Midna nodded.
"I've never had a reason to doubt you before, my beloved husband. And I'm not gonna start looking for one now. Let's get started," she said with a happy smile. Lhikan returned his wife's smile, and kissed her forehead.
"First thing's first. How do we get out of here?" he asked. Midna giggled.
"A portal of course. It's a natural ability of our kind, allowing us to travel very quickly. I can open a portal here, and get us back to the spirit spring in Ordona. Or at least as close to it as I can. I don't exactly know where it is," she said with an embarrassed smile. Lhikan simply ducked under her, catching her on his shoulders.
"You open the portal, I'll do the rest. I know Ordona Province like the back of my hand," he chuckled. Midna giggled, and with little more than a nod of her head, she and her husband dissolved into twilight particles, and left for the spring of Ordona.
